BrewDate is a speed dating service operated in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. For questions about your data, contact us at hello@brewdate.nl.

2. Data We Collect

When you register for an event, we collect:

  • First name
  • Email address
  • Age
  • Gender
  • Payment information (processed by Mollie; we do not store card details)
  • Event participation data (your interest preferences during the event)

3. Purpose of Processing

We use your data to:

  • Register you for the event and process your payment
  • Send you event confirmation and logistics information
  • Pair you with other participants during the event
  • Compute and communicate mutual matches after the event

4. Legal Basis (GDPR)

We process your personal data based on:

  • Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) — You explicitly consent to data processing when you check the consent box during registration.
  • Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) — Processing is necessary to provide the speed dating service you registered and paid for.

5. Data Sharing

Your first name and email address are shared with other participants only when there is a mutual match — meaning both you and the other person expressed interest. We never sell or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.

6. Third-Party Processors

We use the following services to operate BrewDate:

  • Supabase (database hosting) — EU region
  • Mollie (payment processing) — Netherlands-based, PCI DSS compliant
  • Resend (transactional email) — for sending confirmation and match notification emails
  • Vercel (website hosting) — for serving the BrewDate website

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for the duration needed to provide the service. After an event, your data is kept for up to 6 months to handle any support requests. You can request deletion at any time by contacting us.

8. Your Rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access — Request a copy of your personal data
  • Rectification — Correct inaccurate data
  • Erasure — Request deletion of your data
  • Portability — Receive your data in a structured format
  • Withdraw consent — At any time, without affecting prior processing

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@brewdate.nl. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) at autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl.

9. Cookies

BrewDate does not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics. We use only essential cookies required for the website to function.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
